LThe fight against inequality has been going on for a long time, but it seems that we still have a long way to go to raise awareness about the messages that still convey sexism and inequality in the world of marketing and advertising . Messages that are often shared without any intention of offending, as a custom that has been repeating patterns for years, but that needs to be eradicated.
If we take a quick mental trip to the past of traditional campaigns , we immediately notice the clear messages of inequality in marketing, and that is that advertising generally showed impeccable, delicate women, who normally received blenders, pots and pans on birthdays and Christmas and in which they were minimized or treated as objects.
The most surprising thing is that this still happens today.
#Hastaelcopy: a call to raise awareness about inequality in marketing
“Every day we browse hundreds of websites and social greece business email database networks in our work as marketing and communication professionals,” says the website of #Hastaelcopy, the initiative created by the Marketing Paradise agency . “And unfortunately, we see that these types of messages continue to slip through. In fact, our eyes and ears are so accustomed to them that they can even go completely unnoticed.”
The intention of #Hastaelcopy is not to accuse brands or agencies that still make these kinds of mistakes in their message, but to raise awareness about inequality in marketing, propose solutions, and use some examples so that “the communications sector can be a little more equal.”
