Authenticity and originality are rewarded on TikTok, and in advertising as well. It all depends on your target audience, your company's style, the message you want to convey...
TikTok is full of trolls and people have no filter when it comes to comments. Keep this in mind, otherwise I'll see you buying Almax in bulk.
Don’t be too fancy. Saying “we’re the best”, “we have the best team of professionals”, “I’ll tell you how to succeed”, “we have the best price” or similar nonsense (usually false) will get you kicked out on TikTok.
If you're small, show your face . The advantage of a small business is that it's already humanized as standard. Sometimes a very simple video recorded with a mobile phone and a minimal technical infrastructure works much better than something super elaborate. The secret is to have people appear who speak directly to the viewer, without falling into a talking head.
Humor is a winner, use it. White humor, without politics and united states of america number data without offending anyone, but if you are able to make whoever sees your ad smile, they will remember you much more when the time comes to buy.
Don't recycle videos from other platforms and in other formats. TikTok was born for mobile, so the vertical format is the one you should use. The idea of "the video is square but it's pretty" is like eating cream puffs because they don't contain palm fat and are healthy.
How many 60-second ads have you watched in full on TikTok? Just because you can upload a 60-second video doesn't mean you should. If you can tell it in 20 seconds or less, all the better, because at the end of a 60-second ad, your mom, sister, and cousins come in (these so they can laugh at you at Christmas parties). Unless it's exceptionally good.
Don't make the same mistake as many brands, who simply use TikTok to put in TV spots and then adapt them to the vertical format . TikTok has its rules, its language and its unwritten rules. One of them is that anything that smells like mainstream advertising = crap.
Before you start posting ads, you need to be active and know TikTok's codes and trends very well. This social network is totally different from the others. Here, trends are born, grow and die at a speed never seen before. You need to be up to date with what your target audience likes and doesn't like before even thinking about what type of ad you are going to post.
Should I hire a well-known TikToker to promote me? If you can afford it, yes, but DO NOT impose the script on them. Let them make a proposal on how to promote you in one of their videos, because they know very well what they do and how to do it, otherwise they wouldn't be there. There is nothing sadder than seeing someone you follow shoehorn promos with words they clearly don't use. In fact, if the TikToker is even remotely intelligent, they will refuse to do it if you don't give them creative freedom.
