SVO veteran Nikita Gorelov recently became the head of the small town of Sosnovka in the Kirov region. As reported by the Telegram channel of the Vyatsko-Polyanskaya Pravda newspaper , Gorelov was elected by the Sosnovka City Duma on October 10, and five days later officially took office . On October 28, the new head created his own Telegram channel , where he began publishing reports on his activities.

As journalist Sergei Karnaukhov reported , Gorelov served in cyprus mobile database the SVO zone on mobilization from September 26, 2022. Two years later, while on vacation, he submitted documents to the selection committee to participate in the mayoral elections. At the same time, according to Karnaukhov, Gorelov was never a participant in the Time of Heroes personnel program.

Various online publications report that the new head of Sosnovka is 30 years old. He was listed as a sniper in the SVO. At the same time, Karnaukhov claims that during his service, Gorelov "refused to go to sniper positions, preferring rear work." The head of Sosnovka himself calls such statements a "provocation" and posts videos proving that he was on the front lines.

On December 20, Gorelov published a post in which he reported that they were trying to remove him from office because of the corruption schemes he had exposed. At the same time, the mayor of the city was given an order to return to the front.

"Today I was given an order to report to the unit for military service. The actions of both the district and regional military commissar, employees of the district military commissariat, individual members of the government and the regional Legislative Assembly, district authorities and city deputies are now aimed at undermining the rights of city self-government, at eliminating the unwanted head, who has all the information sufficient to at least fire these Banderites for incompetence, and at most imprison them for many years," the head of Sosnovka wrote.
