So we had this year, the year 2023, in general, a drop in views on Français Authentique YouTube videos , a significant drop. And of course, when I saw that... I was used to seeing a certain number of views, to seeing certain results, to seeing a certain number of people watching our videos, and when I started to see, one week, two weeks, three weeks, four weeks, five weeks, that the number of views was no longer the same as what we had before, well of course my brain got anxious, it started telling itself stories, it said:
“People don’t like my work anymore. So the work of Français Authentique is no longer of sufficient quality. We’ve been doing this for we’re repeating ourselves, maybe people are looking for something else and people don’t like my work anymore and everything will collapse. Maybe Français Authentique will completely collapse and everything will stop. My freedom of time, my financial freedom, my freedom to share things on a daily basis and to exercise my passion will stop.” That’s what anxiety can bring you when you let your brain tell itself stories.
So what I did, after a while of stress and anxiety, well I zoomed out. I started to say to myself: "Wait, what is our long-term vision, the long-term vision of Français Authentique? Is it to get views on YouTube or is it to help as many people as possible in our academy, for example?"
Then I looked and said, "We have more subscribers on the YouTube channel today than we had a year ago. So we're not doing too bad. I looked at the number of members in our academy. We have more members in our academy today than we had a year ago."
So I said to myself: Johan, see this situation as a signal, because I don't want to ignore this. If fewer people are watching our videos, it's because... well, there could be a lot of reasons... it could be related to the YouTube algorithm, it could be related to the competition, but it's also necessarily a little related to my content.
So don't stress, improve your content. So I first calmed myself down by zooming out and telling myself that if we look at Français Authentique as a whole, everything is going very well, and I said to myself: "Why are the views dropping or in any case what could you do to solve this problem or in any case what is your level of action?"

We tried to increase the quality of all our latest videos. We have professional equipment, we take time to try to make video montages a little more dynamic, a little more fun, to try to be more effective in the messages we share. So all that in fact, it's what needs to be done, it's what is in my power. Afterwards, for the rest, we can't stress unnecessarily or tell ourselves too many stories. So the idea is to zoom out.
