Google Photos is primarily used to back up and organize photos, but also offers functions for image editing. The tool is available in the browser and as an app and automatically uploads photos from various devices to the Google One cloud if desired. You can select which folders should be synchronized and which not, for example to save camera recordings and screenshots on your smartphone to the switzerland telegram data cloud immediately after they have been taken (or when a Wi-Fi connection is available). All photos are automatically organized and indexed there. They can then be searched not only by time and location of the photo and displayed on a map (provided the location of the photo was saved), but also by keywords: For example, searching for "stairs" returns all photos in which Google Photos' AI recognizes a staircase, and you can also search for text in the images. This also makes it possible to create automatic smart live albums, for example with photos in which a certain animal is visible. Photos can be marked as favorites and organized into albums that can be shared with other people and edited together.
The editing functions in Google Photos are naturally much more limited than in comprehensive photo editing solutions such as Lightroom or Capture One, but many adjustments and improvements are still possible here. The AI makes automatic optimization suggestions, for example to correct the exposure of photos, and there are various filters and options for adjusting the sky. There are also tools for color and exposure correction, cropping and blurring, sharpening, HDR and more.
Google Photos offers 15 GB of free storage space. For more cloud storage space, you must take out a paid Google One subscription, whereby the storage space applies to all Google products (including Gmail or documents in Google Drive) and can be shared with other people. The range of functions of Google Photos is no different.
