Use emojis in your meta titles

Post by mayaboti »

You read that right. You can now include emojis in your SERP rankings . Google has been on and off about whether or not to include these elements in search results. They introduced them, removed them , and now it looks like they’ve put them back.

Google Supports Emojis in SERP Snippets
Emojis will now appear in snippets that are “ relevant, useful, and fun .” Obviously, emojis in any title will draw attention on a SERP . However, in this context, they play an even more important role. Much like Twitter’s advantages of using our skype database emoji search function, Google has also gotten into this space and allows you to pull results based on a single emoji. When searching for a potato chip emoji, Google was able to pull the following results :

Interestingly, upon closer inspection, not all results include the emoji you searched for.

For example, look at the SERP for the dog emoji :

The first result contains the emoji in the page title, the others do not.

Google is interpreting what you are asking for and providing you with multiple relevant results, not just results that contain a specific emoji. Since emojis are indexed in Google search results , Google has taken things a step further to help you find what you are looking for nearby.
