The Central Statistical Office presented preliminary results achieved by foreign trade last year. The published data show that in the period under review, goods turnover at current prices amounted to PLN 940.4 billion for goods shipments and PLN 961.8 billion for imports. Turnover with the first ten of our trading partners - similarly to the previous year - oscillated around 65-66 percent of total exports and imports.

Exports expressed in US dollars amounted to USD 261.8 billion, and imports linkedin data to USD 267.7 billion (an increase of 13.1% and 15.9%, respectively). The negative balance was USD 5.9 billion (
in the same period of 2017 it was positive and amounted to USD 0.6 billion).
Exports expressed in euro amounted to EUR 221.0 billion, and imports to EUR 226.1 billion (an increase in exports by 7.0%, and in imports by 9.7%). The negative balance amounted to EUR 5.1 billion, compared to a positive balance of EUR 0.5 billion in the same period of 2017.
Merchandise turnover in total and by country groups
Poland has the largest share in total exports with developed countries – 87.0% (including EU 80.4%), and in imports – 65.5% (including EU 58.3%), compared to 86.6% (including EU 80.0%) and 67.7% (including EU 60.4%), respectively, in the same period of 2017. On the other hand, the smallest share was recorded with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which amounted to 5.8% in total exports and 9.1% in imports, compared to 5.8% and 7.9%, respectively, after twelve months of 2017.
