Patent Maintenance Fee

Post by israt9623525 »

If we wanted to have a really fast site, we would just have to put text, without graphics, and we would have a site that is the bomb! But in real life, this is not possible. If we want to show our hotel, our company, we could hardly do it without showing images and/or videos. The word works in many cases, but not as much as one or more images. Therefore, a compromise must be foreseen right away: do I need speed or to show information? And how much? Is a single image enough or do I need more? And of what size and quality? Do we want to have 5 photos, beautiful, optimized, that look good in full screen and that do not show compression defects? Ok, we do it, but we forget about speed, or rather, about passing those speed tests that you have certainly tried.

Want a fast site instead? Put fewer images, put low saudi arabia business email list quality ones and, in 99% of cases, your site will pass the tests. We already know that there can be exceptions like: eh, but images can be optimized. Yes, true, but at the same time losing quality. An uncompressed image, 2000x1500 pixels, in color, weighs 3.375Mb. If I compress it to 80Kb, I lose 97.36% of the initial information . I forget the details, but I also forget the rest… :D Let's add another detail: speed tests are done by *emulating* browsers present in a certain point.

Often they do not use cache, often they are positioned in the USA, often they use *standard* specifications good for almost everyone but mainly calibrated for average American users. Our servers are in Italy, divided into two large data centers between Milan and Rome. The reason is easy to explain: 90% of our customers' visitors reside in Italy or within a 500 km radius of it. Visitors from other continents are very rare: we have therefore positioned the servers where the majority of users are. A speed test should be done from a position that coincides with the average user ; if the test system is located in America and contacts one of our servers, it will * naturally * take much longer than a real user physically located much closer to the servers.
