First, you need to install and activate the Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin

You can test imagemagick by simply uploading a PDF file to your WordPress website. If you see a thumbnail preview for your PDF file, you are good to go.

Please note that the plugin we will use in this article will generate new thumbnails for all older image files as well. As a precaution, back up your WordPress website or at least the folder /wp-content/uploads/.


The plugin is hosted on GitHub. If you have never installed plugins from GitHub before, then take a look at our guide on how to install WordPress plugins from GitHub .

After activation, you need to visit the Tools ” Force Regenerate Thumbnails page .

Regenerate all thumbnails
