Testing of this multi-link feature has been ongoing since October 2021, however, Instagram is now allowing some American creators to start testing the new feature.
The goal is to find a way to help expand the creative potential of businesses and influencers by allowing Instagram users to visit other web pages.
The Multiple Links Feature
Some influencers have shown how the new multiple link option works in practice. For now, the section dedicated to links in the profile has not changed, except for the addition of the indicator “and 2 others” next to the main link, indicating to the user the existence of multiple domains.
When clicking on the tag, this lower pop-up appears on the user's singapore whatsapp data screen, with the other link options, offering the possibility of viewing and visiting the desired page according to the URL and title.
For now, there is no information about the number of links that the user will be able to add, in addition, Meta told Insider that, despite testing, there are still no details about the planned launch or the complete functional specifications of the tool.
What happens with other tools?
There are currently several tools that offer this “multiple links” option for social networks, such as Linktree. However, what happens to these tools with the new feature?
The reality is that many users already use Linktree or some other tool, after all, content creators and companies usually have a greater diversity of links for users to visit than common social profiles, which generally forward from one social network to another.
Therefore, these tools have already gained space in the market, both due to the need to include several links, as well as the possibilities for customization, almost unlimited number of links and other benefits.
In other words, the possibility of including multiple links directly through Instagram could be a beneficial option, especially for digital influencers, content creators and smaller companies, who do not see the need to invest in broader tools.
Furthermore, the tool is not yet released to the public and there is no official information about which accounts are testing the feature, which means we may have to wait a few more months until access is widespread.
