TOA little over two months after the implementation of the new Influencer Law presented by the Spanish government, only 36 content creators have signed up for the mandatory registry. The deadline for registration expired on July 2 and there are still several names missing , such as María Pombo (3.2 million followers), Violeta Mangriñán (2.4 million followers), or Rocío Osorno (1.7 million followers), among several others.

Who should be registered
Let us remember that on April 30, the Council of Ministers approved Royal Decree 444/2024, which creates a mandatory registry for "users of special relevance" , informally known as influencers . The united kingdom number data regulation specifies both the conditions that must be met for a user to be classified as an influencer, as well as the obligations to which they are subject.

In Spain you are an influencer if you meet these three conditions:

You have income equal to or greater than €300,000 for that activity.
You have 1 million followers on a single video platform, or if the sum of all your followers across your different platforms reaches 2 million in total.
You publish at least 24 videos a year.
From the moment they register, these "users of special relevance" are obliged to clearly identify advertising content and cannot prohibit advertising for alcohol, tobacco or medicines . In addition, they must request identification of age , to prevent minors from accessing inappropriate content.

In this way, the law equates the figure of an influencer with that of other providers of audiovisual communication services, such as television channels or streaming platforms.
