In my experience, most IT specialists are irritated by routine. Yes, writing code is not the most fun activity and often not as creative as it may seem to newbies. Among other disadvantages is the need to constantly learn, improve your skills. Instead of "lying like a seal" after work - again listen, read, study.

For many, being an IT specialist means being in permanent stress. This has happened to everyone, when what was born in agony is deleted to zero, the deadline is pressing and you are forced to spend the night at the monitor, growing roots in the workplace. By the way, this is connected with another disadvantage of working as an IT specialist - overtime, which happens and often depends not so much on you as on the team. "One for all and all for one" - this is how IT specialists work on a project. Then the team can change and you have to again look for a connection with new people. However, the latter is more likely to apply to "freelancers"; in the staff of a modern advanced company, many of the listed disadvantages can be avoided.
