Robert Vlach is known for his meticulous preparation for lectures, and this time was no different. Tweets appeared on Twitter under the hashtag #mkt2013 comparing the presentation to a university lecture. The linkedin database audience took two opposing positions on this lecture, one part was enthusiastic, the other part was not very fond of the lecture.
It would be difficult for anyone to find a middle ground. Given that the lecture was held at Palacký University, the comparison that I "felt like I was at school again" will be quite lame, but that's how it was. We were given materials during the lecture. I would probably have liked them to be distributed at the end, they were a bit distracting, and I could also imagine the presentation to be more engaging to support the ideas presented. To sum up, Robert Vlach's lecture was very high quality, but as I said to Mark, in my opinion it did not fit in with this conference that well and I am convinced that a different audience would appreciate it much more.
