Podcast in 2023: 10 key trends to understand its rise

Post by samiaseo222 »

For a few years now, podcasts have become one of the most promising formats for information and entertainment content. And the forecast is that during 2023 they will once again be a success in terms of growth. According to data collected by Demand Sage in its report '49 podcast statistics that really matter' , at the end of 2022 more than 2.4 million podcasts were broadcast worldwide, listened to by approximately 387 million people . Every year the consumption of this format multiplies, and the figures indicate that this trend will continue to grow in the future.

The latest iVoox Observatory on podcast algeria mobile database consumption in Spanish is proof of its growth : in 2022, listening time doubled compared to the previous year, with an average of 9.5 hours per week . Any other interesting data? 42.56% of those surveyed for the iVoox report indicate that they listen to at least one podcast a day and that 50% of them use their mobile phone to consume this content.

Why is podcasting still a growing format?
What is certain is that the podcast is a format that has been able to take advantage of some of the characteristics of radio , improving other aspects and using the technology and agility of consumption offered by devices such as mobile phones for its consumption.

That is why, over the years, podcasts continue to be a very valuable format for content creators and brands. Why?

They require a small investment. Yes, there are many ways to make a podcast, but to actually broadcast it you need very little: a quiet space and a device that allows for quality recording.
It is a friendly and non-intrusive format. One of the strengths of podcasts is their spontaneity and the fact that they develop a very dynamic interaction. Furthermore, since it is the user who takes the initiative on how, when and where to listen, even when there is promotional content, it is not intrusive.
