Analytical company Gartner has outlined strategic trends for 2021, which include distributed cloud, AI engineering and mesh networks for cybersecurity, Information Age reports.
“The need for operational resilience across enterprise functions has never been greater,” said Brian Burke, research vice president at Gartner. “CIOs are looking to adapt to changing conditions to shape the future of business. Dynamic transformation requires organizational agility. In fact, understanding the top technology trends for 2021 can help enterprises do just that. As they move from responding to the COVID-19 crisis to finding ways to grow, they should focus on three key areas that are shaping this year’s trends: people-centricity, location agnosticism, and reliable delivery. Together, these trends create a whole that is greater than its individual parts, focused on social and personal demands from anywhere to achieve optimal delivery.”
Below are the top technology trends for 2021, according to Gartner.
1. Internet behavior
The internet of behaviours (IoB) is albania mobile database into use as more technologies begin to interact with the “digital dust” of people’s daily lives. According to Gartner, the IoB combines existing technologies that focus directly on people (such as facial recognition, location tracking, and big data) and links the resulting data to related behavioural events, such as purchases or device usage.
Organizations can use this data to influence people’s behavior. For example, they could use IoB to monitor compliance with health protocols during the ongoing pandemic. They could use computer vision to make sure their employees are wearing masks, while thermal imaging would allow them to identify people with elevated temperatures. Gartner predicts that by the end of 2025, more than half of the population will be participants in at least one IoB program, whether commercial or government.
