Ivan Zasokhlin, Head of Commvault Representative Office in Russia and the CIS | 03/09/2021
Personal data protection (PDn) is a global trend. The right to their protection is declared today as an integral part of fundamental human rights. The topic of their safe processing and storage is relevant both in Russia and abroad.

The collection, analysis and movement of personal data are acquiring enormous economic significance worldwide. Personal data have significant value in the modern economy. In essence, this is any information related to a directly or indirectly defined subject of PDn - an individual.

In Russian legislation, PDn are general personal data (full name, date and place of birth, address, family, social and property status, profession, income, race, nationality, political views, religious or philosophical beliefs, health status, intimate life, criminal record information); biometric personal data (DNA, iris, fingerprint information, color digital photographic image of the face, voice, photographic image of the vein pattern of the palm and other information).

What is the European GDPR? Why is it so important?
The adoption of the EU poland mobile database Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is considered a landmark event: it represents fundamental changes to how personal data is processed. The GDPR was designed to give EU citizens more control over how their personal data is collected and used.

The GDPR 2018 aims to consolidate and improve the disparate data privacy rules applicable in Europe and aims to improve the data privacy protection of all EU residents in an increasingly digital world.

The definition of "personal data" in this regulation is expanded: in addition to attributes such as name, identification number and location data, personal data includes online identifiers such as IP addresses and mobile device identifiers.
