Astra Group of Companies announced the implementation of the next stage of import substitution in the state autonomous institution of the Belgorod Region "Multifunctional Center for the Provision of State and Municipal Services" (Belgorod MFC).

It was decided to carry out import substitution in several stages. As of today, part of the server equipment and 300 user workstations have already been transferred to Astra Linux Special Edition , centralized management of the updated infrastructure has been organized and its trouble-free operation has been established. During the project, specialists solved a number of non-standard issues. In particular, they had to ensure the compatibility of the implemented solutions with the customer's legacy software intended for use in the Windows OS environment , as well as with peripherals: web cameras, printers, scanners, etc. Another barrier to import substitution was the issue of the customer's personnel qualifications: system administrators and other MFC employees had no experience interacting with Linux -like software. To ensure that they could effectively work with the new software as soon as possible and take advantage of its advantages, they were provided with various training materials and technical support services from the vendor.

"We strive to carry out import substitution in such a way that the process is as comfortable as possible for the MFC, and as a result, the customer receives a convenient, reliable and secure IT system that is easy to administer and maintain. Now we have started a test implementation of the ALD Pro software with the transfer of part of the infrastructure from the Windows domain, the migration of the remaining equipment to the Astra Linux operating system continues so that ultimately the entire fleet of equipment will work on a single Russian platform," said Yaroslav Bogomolov, Director of the Implementation and Support Department of the Astra Group of Companies.
