Moscow City Pedagogical University (MCPU) has allowed students to use artificial intelligence technologies in preparing their final qualifying works (FQWs), the university’s press service told RIA Novosti.

"Moscow City Pedagogical University (MCPU) has legalized the use of artificial intelligence technologies for students in preparing their final qualifying works. The decision was finland whatsapp resource made at the end of August 2023 at a meeting of the Academic Council of MCPU. It means that students can use chatbots and other AI tools to obtain data and texts when working on their final qualifying works," the report says.

"Artificial intelligence is one of the advanced technologies that is actively spreading in modern society. De facto, both students and teachers are already using it. But in order to prevent plagiarism, create texts honestly, and present conclusions in a reasoned manner, we need general rules for using AI. Prohibiting its use is the easiest way, but it is unlikely to be effective. If in the future our graduates will still have to use this tool, it is better to learn how to use it correctly while studying at the university," said the rector of the university.Igor Remorenko.

He also noted that MGPU is introducing strict rules to prevent direct cheating using AI.

"Systems for generating various information should not be perceived as an absolutely reliable source of data. It is necessary to be critical of the transfer of information from automated systems to the final qualification work. But the generated texts are good material for new ideas and analysis. This is an excellent hint when conducting group discussions and searching for solutions," Remorenko concluded.
