PAO Astra Group, the developer of Astra Linux OS

Rustam Rustamov, Deputy General Director of Red Soft LLC, noted that specialized software designed for conducting the Unified State Exam is written for MS Windows and needs to be modified for Linux. He believes that this can be done by 2026. Rustam Rustamov believes that the Red OS system is suitable for conducting the Unified State Exam. "We provide schools with licenses for the Red OS operating system free of charge to organize the educational process," Rustam Rustamov said.

, believes that their kuwait whatsapp number database operating system can be used for the Unified State Exam. Roman Borisov, Deputy Commercial Director of Astra Group, told ComNews that it is realistic to transfer the exam to domestic software by 2026 and the company is working in this direction. "The work on transferring the Unified State Exam to domestic software consists of two main blocks. The first is at the federal level - transferring the server part responsible for generating tasks, sending it to the regions, storing and processing the results. The second is regional computer classes, where the Unified State Exam versions are printed and tasks are scanned. Astra Group works through the Federal State Budgetary Institution Federal Testing Center (FSBI FCT) with the federal and regional levels. All our products have been transferred to the FCT for testing solutions from both blocks on them," said Roman Borisov. He explained that the Astra Group offered to equip all regional computers that will be used for the Unified State Exam with its software free of charge. "Then regional IT specialists will be able to develop on protected versions of the OS. At the same time, some of them have already contacted us with a request to give them the Astra Linux OS for testing," said Roman Borisov.

Also, one of the operating systems for conducting the Unified State Exam may probably be Alt by Bazalt SPO LLC. Vladimir Kashitsin, head of the educational projects department at Bazalt SPO, said that the transition from proprietary operating systems, such as Windows, is inevitable, but it will take time. When asked whether it is possible that the company will provide licenses for schools for free at first and then agree on a paid license extension, Bazalt SPO replied that the company has such experience. "Free licenses for the Alt Education and Alt Workstation operating systems can be transferred to state and municipal educational institutions for organizing the educational process under a cooperation agreement for a period of up to three years: the term of the licenses is determined by the organization itself depending on the needs and tasks," said Vladimir Kashitsin. He explained that schools can purchase Bazalt SPO products at a large discount - under an "academic license" for the education sector.

Ivan Panchenko, Deputy General Director of Postgres Professional LLC, Head of the Committee for Integration of Russian Software of the ARPP Domestic Software, believes that any domestic Linux distribution will do to replace Windows. "There is no particular sense in being tied to one of them," Ivan Panchenko shared his opinion. The only key problem may be a biased attitude towards any OS other than Windows.

Vladimir Suvorov, a leading specialist in building complex systems at the custom software development company Auriga LLC, believes that switching to domestic Linux, such as Astra Linux, is not difficult. "The USE product is not technically complex, rather there are many requirements for load and security, which is well provided by Linux systems. The cost of the transition should not be high. And electronic textbooks should work anywhere in principle - their transfer is also a technically simple task," said Vladimir Suvorov.

Dmitry Eliseev, Commercial Director of Applite Group (developer of the Atlant OS) noted that all domestic OSs are variants of Linux. The main problem with Linux is that the software is not up to standard. "This is a defect of the platform itself, not a "sore spot" of the developer. As a result, the main expenses arise not during implementation during the transition from one OS to another, but during operation. And if there is political will for this to happen, then why is this delay of the inevitable needed? On a national scale, it does not give anything," Dmitry Eliseev believes.

He also touched on the financial issue. "How much did it cost to use MS Windows for the education system? I remember there was a promotional package called "First Aid," which cost 1,000 rubles per workstation per year. It included a subscription to the OS, an office suite, and an antivirus. It looks like this step by the American developer is more likely due to an attempt to maintain a physical presence in conditions where the American government has prohibited them from taking money from customers in Russia. For example, the money earned earlier is enough to continue financing this activity within the corporation," said Dmitry Eliseev.

The founder and producer of AO Robbo Pavel Frolov said that there are many solutions on the market that are actively being implemented in government structures: most use Astra Linux, Alt Linux, ROSA and Red OS. In addition, there are several solutions that schools prefer because they are free - GosLinux and MosLinux (an OS created specifically for schools with the support of the Moscow government). In the case of GosLinux or MosLinux, costs are only required for migration and technical support.
