SAS Brasil continues its mission of impact and solidarity in Rio Grande do Sul, facing the challenges of the floods that severely affected the region during the month of April this year.
Between July 4th and 6th, 45 volunteers and partner organizations joined forces to clean and rebuild the Farrapos Health Unit, which serves up to 12,000 people.
This action is therefore part of SAS Brazil 's ongoing commitment to supporting germany email list vulnerable communities and providing essential care.
Since the start of the mission on May 27th until July 6th, SAS Brazil has achieved impressive numbers:

The Rio Grande do Sul Mission not only had a significant impact on the regions affected by the floods, but also, with the support of Digisac , which facilitated communication and coordination of actions, enhanced the reach and efficiency of services.

Recent initiatives in Rio Grande do Sul
First tele-service center in the state
SAS Brasil has opened its first telehealth center in Rio Grande do Sul. This center provides remote care to the population and healthcare professionals, expanding the reach of medical and psychological support services.
“Caring for those who care”
In addition, health professionals from Porto Alegre, Canoas and Eldorado do Sul participated in meetings focused on mental health, sharing experiences and discussing the “Taking Care of Those Who Care” project.
This initiative aims to provide emotional and psychological support to professionals on the front lines of care, ensuring that they also receive the care they need to continue their essential work.
Cleaning campaign
In addition to the assistance activities, cleaning campaigns were carried out to help recover the affected areas, thus ensuring safer and healthier environments for local communities.
Closing and next steps
In the last week of June, the activities of the SAS Brasil Mobile Health Unit, in partnership with the Santa Maria Unit, were concluded.
The team is now preparing to move to a new location, which will be defined soon. In July, SAS Brazil plans to strengthen the “Caring for Those Who Care” project and, in addition, park the service truck in a new area in need.
