A source in the market told a ComNews correspondent that the development of trusted BSs - domestically produced telecom equipment (TORP) - concerns the technological sovereignty and security of the country: "Cellular networks on imported equipment are permanently operating means of electronic intelligence of the country that produces the equipment (all NATO members), and therefore they are not being switched off on Russian territory for now. In addition, the networks can be used by them for high-precision navigation and targeting."
The same source noted problems for the development of domestic 4G/5G cellular base stations: "The new strategy for the development of the communications industry until 2030 provides for an option to ensure technological sovereignty by having controlled supply channels for foreign telecommunications equipment. In addition, localization of Chinese equipment is allowed as the final goal of development - and localized software and hardware systems cannot be trusted."
Along with the companies Yadro, Bulat and Irtea, which are developing GSM/LTE base stations (and Irtea - 5G), in Russia there is the Laboratory of Infocommunication Networks (LIS), which is independent from the "big four" mobile companies. Its LTE base stations have had TORP status for two years now and are certified for operation in communication networks.

that the entry of new usa whatsapp resource suppliers of mobile network equipment into the Russian market can only be welcomed: "Whether they will open a Russian office or work through a partner is a secondary issue; it is much more important that operators start receiving modern equipment and expanding their networks. We must also be aware that equipment developed by Chinese companies may be very different from what operators are used to using Ericsson and Nokia equipment. These are new realities, and we must adapt to them; it is useless to wait for Western companies to return to the Russian market."
Vadim Plesskiy believes that the 4G LTE equipment announced on the BeijinTech website is quite capable of covering a significant part of the operators' needs for expanding and upgrading mobile networks: "4G Base Station BBU5900 from BeijinTech supports up to 21,600 users per BS, has two 25 Gbps optical ports and operates at 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz. At the same time, the BS size is very compact - 48x35x14 cm, which makes it possible to install it in a variety of locations. 4G Integrated High Power Base Station (LPC-2901 Outdoor) and 4G Distributed High Power Base Station support up to 128 active users / 384 RRC connections and are designed for use in rural areas, along roads and in the suburbs. It should be noted that the weight of the LPC-2901 Outdoor Base Station is less than 15 kg, and the power consumption is up to 280 W. Installation of such a BS is possible at unprepared sites where it is not possible to place a large and heavy BS."
Vadim Plesskiy noted: "Due to the fact that the release of Russian BS is being postponed, operators need an affordable solution that they can use. The specified products are quite suitable for replacing BSs already in use in Russia, as well as for expanding mobile communication networks.
Yadro, Irtea, Bulat, LIS, as well as mobile operators MegaFon, MTS and Beeline did not answer questions from a ComNews correspondent about the prospects for cooperation with BeijinTech and the reality of this company's own developments.
