On July 30, the State Duma adopted a law according to which the Bank of Russia will be able to create an experimental legal regime in the country for conducting organized cryptocurrency trades. Participants in foreign economic activity will be able to use cryptocurrency for external settlements.

A representative of the St. Petersburg Exchange told RBC Investments that the trading platform “plans to actively participate in the experimental legal regime for conducting exchange trading in cryptocurrency.”

At the same time, the Moscow Exchange does not intend to participate in the experiment to conduct exchange trading in cryptocurrency, said Nikolai Trunichkin, head of digital projects and products at the platform.
