Contribution to WordPress and Open Source

Post by Mostafa044 »

We've always been big supporters of open source , and over the past year we've increased our commitment to both WordPress and free open source projects.

As part of our commitment to Five for the Future, we hired Peter Wilson, one of WordPress' most respected contributors, to devote 100% of his time to improving WordPress. He recently led the release of WordPress 5.7.2.

Aside from the posts visible on WordPress.org, we now offer over 1200 hours of free WordPress support every month through our various support channels, including our contact form, Facebook group, etc.

We also continued to maintain dozens of other free tools like the maldivian lads Weebly to WordPress Migration Tool , the Medium to WordPress Migration Tool , our popular free header and footer inserter plugin , and more.

Want to join our team and contribute to the larger open source ecosystem? We're hiring .

4. New acquisitions and investments (PushEngage, Uncanny Automator and more)

As you may know, I launched the WPBeginner Growth Fund in 2018 to invest in WordPress-focused companies.

We closed out 2020 with a bang with the acquisition of PushEngage , the leading web push notification software. See the backstory .

I've also invested in Uncanny Owl and the Uncanny Automator plugin . I'm really excited about what we're building at Automator. Our goal is to help website owners connect WordPress with other business tools without paying the high costs of Zapier. Read the full backstory .

Earlier this year, we also acquired Plugin Rank . It is a very useful tool for WordPress plugin authors to track the ranking of their plugins and grow their business.

I'm really proud of how far we've come with the Growth Fund in just three years. It's truly amazing to see the impact our companies are having on the WordPress ecosystem and the entire open web.
