ANDOuTube has announced a new measure to promote transparency on its platform, specifically in relation to content generated by artificial intelligence (AI). With the increasing use of generative AI in content creation, the video platform is seeking to enable users to recognise whether the material they are consuming is real or not.
To that end, the platform has added a new tool in Creator Studio that requires creators to disclose to viewers when realistic content (content that a viewer could easily mistake for a real person, place, or event) is created using altered or synthetic media, including generative AI. These clarifications will appear as labels in the expanded description or on the front of the video player.

Cases where it should be clarified that the content was made with AI
On its official blog, the platform clarifies that creators will not be required to disclose the use of generative AI for productivity tasks, such as generating scripts or automatic subtitles, or when synthetic media is unrealistic or changes are inconsequential, such as color adjustments or lighting filters. In that regard, some examples of content that would require clarification include:
Using a realistic human image: digitally altering content to replace one individual's face with another's or synthetically generating a person's voice to narrate a video.
Altering images of real events or places – such as making it look like a real building is on fire or altering a real cityscape to make it look different from reality.
Generate realistic scenes: Show a realistic representation of important fictional events, such as a tornado moving towards a real city.
