Back in September 2023, Meta had already introduced a chatbot experience where users could interact with AI bots that were tailored to the “communication style” of certain famous people , such as Mr. Beast, Charlie D'Amelio, Paris Hilton, Chloe Kim, or Josh Richards, for example. Back then, the company was already making clear its interest in expanding and integrating AI into the products of its platforms.

In April of this year, the digital media outlet The New York Times reported on Instagram's plans regarding its program to create AI avatars of famous influencers. "The program, which is in its early stages of testing and is known as 'Creator AI,' would allow influencers to chat with fans through direct messages on the social network and potentially through Instagram comments in the future, according to five people briefed on the company's plans."

At the time, the outlet reported that Meta was venezuela number data recruiting several famous influencers to add to its AI program, thereby encouraging users and fans to interact with these AI avatars.

Easing the workload of content creators
The goal of this tool will be to allow content creators with a large following to perform administrative tasks, such as responding to comments from their fans, more quickly . Instagram's test program basically consists of a chatbot that imitates the communication style, expressions and tone of the content creator in order to respond to fans as if it were him or her.

However, human interaction is essential to building a community, and a bot that “imitates” someone you admire can backfire, making fans feel neglected and an experience that can feel cold, distant, and impersonal .
