The next edition of the Talent Days job fair is fast approaching! That's why we invited Ewelina and Karolina, recruiters from Group One, who will share with you valuable tips on how to make a good impression and stand out from other candidates.

Learn how to effectively take advantage of your participation in job fairs and launch your career – in the world of media and beyond!

TALENT DAYS: Hi girls! You've already had the opportunity to participate in Talent Days as an employer. How do you recall this experience and why do you think young people participate in such events?

GROUP ONE: Intense, very chinese overseas asia number data
intensive! The organization was really great, it was our first participation in a job fair, so we did not expect such a turnout. There were a lot of interested candidates. They were interested in what we do, what we as Group One deal with on a daily basis and what development opportunities we offer. We noticed that the topic of e-commerce, performance marketing and media is very interesting for them.

TALENT DAYS: What do you think accounts for the high turnout? Why, from a candidate's perspective, is it worth attending a job fair?

GROUP ONE: The biggest benefit is, above all, direct contact with a real person, with an employer. You can personally feel the vibe of a given organization and catch it with a recruiter. Thanks to such a short conversation at the company's stand, you can learn three times more about it than by reading a regular job advertisement. This is a great opportunity for people who are not familiar with the labor market - they can come, talk and learn that you can work in different areas - in the media, finance, etc. This is also a mega cool option for people who did not go to college or graduated from technical school and do not know which way they want to go. Fairs can give them a picture and a view of what each company does, what skills they are looking for in candidates and whether they like it, whether they would like to work in such an area.

TALENT DAYS: What do you think makes a candidate stand out? When they come to your booth at a job fair, what do you look at first?

GROUP ONE: We are captured by people's motivation. When we feel a keen interest, we automatically see potential. We know that we can offer a lot if someone has such a drive for development. We talk with open arms about our development program in the media and other offers if we feel that the candidate wants to learn more. Motivation, willingness to develop, to get to know the employer - this is something that positively distinguishes.

TALENT DAYS: How do you assess the current situation on the job market? Do you think that the multitude of available offers has an impact on the approach candidates take to recruitment?

GROUP ONE : Yes, it seems to us that the employee market has taught candidates such passivity, made them a bit lazy. We are very much in favor of commitment on both sides. We try because we want to have cool people on board, but we also want candidates to show that they really have the will to act, to develop. There is a great metaphor that recruitment has long ceased to be a recruitment process and has become a sales process. This means that the candidate comes to the interview to sell their skills, their energy and show the value they could bring to a given company. We, the recruiters, are also there - we sell the position and our team, we show what we can guarantee, how we can help the candidate develop. Then it is very fair for both parties and we can reach an agreement on mutual expectations.

TALENT DAYS: Apart from the aforementioned motivation and commitment, what skills and qualifications should the ideal candidate have?

GROUP ONE: These traits are still very important, because without the desire and commitment in a field like media, it can be difficult. In the context of media, a lot is thought about creativity, but much more analytical skills are needed - the ability to connect the dots, draw conclusions. We are looking for people who think, are not afraid to step out of line, people who are communicative and very analytical. Additionally, we also appreciate the fact that a given candidate already knows who we are, what we do - they will do some research before the first meeting.

TALENT DAYS: You are looking for candidates for your own development program One School. Can you tell us what it is about?

GROUP ONE: This is a unique program, we have just finished its 3rd edition. It consists of 3 weeks of training in the basics of marketing. We invite people who want to gain knowledge from the very beginning. We train on performance marketing, media, marketing, technology. At the beginning, we give the participants of the program a Gallup Test, to know how to work with them and how to select them into teams. The training is conducted by experienced people from our organization, who use practical examples to share their knowledge in the area of performance marketing, e-commerce, SEO, SEM and Google Analytics. Then everyone does projects in a group, which they present to their potential future managers. After completing this summer program, we selected the best participants, who started working in our company on a permanent basis on September 1. It is also important that during the program we organize a day during which participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of individual teams, which they would potentially like to join in the future.

TALENT DAYS: So participating in such a program is a real chance for success and a further career in marketing?

GROUP ONE: This is best seen when we have an annual evaluation of our activities. Promotions are then awarded and we see how people who started their careers with this program a year or two ago are now specialists. It warms our hearts that someone who was a total novice not long ago is now a qualified specialist – they are not afraid to go to the client, prepare a media plan, present a strategy.

TALENT DAYS: Judging by your stories, employee relations are very important to you. Do you focus on support in the workplace?

GROUP ONE: We are very focused on cooperation. We work together very often, we have creative agencies, media houses, technology agencies - so it is often the case that a client is served by several agencies at the same time, which is why cooperation is important. One of our values is "Be open", which can be really felt inside the company.. We are all in the same boat, together we bring projects to the end, so on the one hand we are professional in all this, and on the other - we want to have fun. There is no culture of competition (unless with other media houses!), we simply work together - the best we can.

TALENT DAYS: Back to the very beginning – try to put yourself in the shoes of a candidate who is planning to look for a job at Talent Days. How would you prepare to participate in a job fair?

GROUP ONE: The most important piece of advice is not to be afraid to talk, because each of these companies is there to talk to you. They want to get to know you and talk about the opportunities they can offer, so ask and talk! Just be yourself. Another piece of advice is to update your CV, add what is valuable - all your competences and certificates. However, it is not worth lying in this CV, because it will come out anyway, e.g. in recruitment tasks. Prepare general questions that you would like to ask selected companies at their stands, so that you have a comparison and when you receive several offers, you can make the best choice based on the answers you get.
If you only walk around such fairs, then you will not get as much out of them as you could if you acted proactively. Good humor, commitment and being open - with this set you will win the hearts of recruiters.

Do you know why we are so eagerly awaiting you? Because participating in the Talent Days job fair opens up huge opportunities for you that are really worth taking advantage of. The job market is not so scary if you look at it from the right perspective.

This is waiting for you at the Talent Days job fair – along with hundreds of recruiters waiting to meet you!
