This second theory suggests that the term Black Friday dates back to 1961. That day, the Philadelphia police force, which was in charge of traffic control at the time, named it Black Friday because of the chaos that shopping caused to traffic flow in the city.

Theory number 3 –

The last theory is the most famous and, for c level executive list many, the most credible. It is said that this term was used on the first Friday after Thanksgiving in the 1960s. Legend has it that, at that time, American retailers wanted to increase their sales during the holidays, to take advantage of the boom!

Thus sharing a belief with Theory number two, since it was in 1961 when the Philadelphia police force would finally consolidate the term to this day.
