What are blockchain domains used for?

Post by suchona.kani.z »

Simply put, a blockchain domain is about changing the way we use the internet.

You will be able to use your domain not only as an address for your site but also as a digital wallet to send and receive payments in cryptocurrencies.

Obviously, the extensions (or top-level domains) on blockchain will not be the traditional ones like .com, .it, etc. and they are certainly not limited to .eth (the extension that can be registered on ENS).

Some of the most popular TLDs that can be registered on Unstoppable Domains are .crypto, .bitcoin, .wallet, or .nft.

Be careful not to confuse the .nft extension alone with NFT iraq email list domains! Any decentralized domain can be an NFT in all respects.

What are NFT domains?
NFTs are Non-Fungible Tokens, which are unique tokens that cannot be replaced with anything else. Have you heard that? Yep. Just like NFTs of digital works, domains on blockchains are unique and decentralized, which is why they can be considered non-fungible tokens in all respects.

As blockchain evolves and becomes more widespread, we can no longer restrict the term NFT to just digital artwork.

To simplify this concept, imagine a non-fungible token as a physical object that resides within the blockchain.

That object can be quickly and easily exchanged between blockchain users precisely because of this feature.

Similarly, a decentralized domain is a token that exists within the blockchain, and as such can be exchanged between users.

And if owning the token of a digital work of art simply allows you to have “visual” ownership of it (which can still turn out to be a great investment), owning the token of a decentralized domain is not just an investment but also allows you to use all the features of that domain (such as online presence, wallet, and so on).

A domain on blockchain ensures its owner maximum privacy, since it is not registered in the whois.
