The difference between Instagram Reels and TikTok
The concept of Reels isn’t entirely new. The feature is nearly identical to TikTok ’s editing tool . It’s perhaps no coincidence that Instagram is launching the feature at a time when TikTok is under fire in the United States. Still, there are a few differences between the platforms and their tools:

On Instagram, you can make a video of up to 15 seconds. On TikTok, you can upload a video of 60 seconds.
TikTok is a standalone platform and Instagram Reels is woven into Instagram. Many organizations already have an Instagram account. They can already reach their existing followers with Instagram Reels. It is an obstacle for many organizations to rebuild a fan base with a platform like TikTok.
TikTok is often seen as an authentic and personal platform. Instagram, on the other hand, is often seen as a serious platform that revolves around lifestyle and aspiration. It therefore requires more originality and technical skills to reach the target group with Reels.

Be on the same platforms as your target audience
Is using TikTok or Instagram Reels a bridge too far for your organization? Don't be afraid of the obstacles. It is important to be on the same platforms as your target group. Try it out. The execution does not have to be perfect right away. As long as it is human, accessible and recognizable for young people.

The Red Cross sets a good example. This organization has used TikTok to reach the young target group and remains true to their mission. In a humorous way they share videos about, for example, first aid. The account now has more than 62k followers.

3. Host a webinar via Facebook Messenger Rooms
Facebook recently launched a new feature. With Facebook Messenger Rooms, you can have a video call with up to 50 people at the same time. There is no time limit on the calls and it is not necessary to have a Facebook account.

Facebook Messenger Rooms was announced as an alternative to Zoom, Skype and Google Hangout. A smart move, especially in times of corona, where video calling has become part of 'the new norm'. It works in principle the same as the other platforms, but the advantage of Facebook Messenger Rooms is the possibility to integrate it with the other functionalities of Facebook.

This way you can share the 'room' in Facebook events and groups and invite people with a specific area of interest. Organizing a webinar? Now it's easy with Facebook Messenger Rooms!

4. Increase your engagement with LinkedIn Live
LinkedIn is the platform to stay in touch with your professional network. With LinkedIn Live you broadcast a live video stream that your customers and partners can follow when you go live. It is very easy to interact with the viewers. Via the public live chat, spectators can ask questions and respond to the video.

With LinkedIn Live, you can broadcast your product launches in real time. It is also possible to broadcast an event live or involve your network in celebrating a milestone. Consider a Q&A, for example, in which you actively engage in conversation with your customers and partners.

Brand communication agency Loyals was one of the first to use LinkedIn Live in the Netherlands to organize a Q&A . With minimal resources, they brought interesting content to many viewers. In thirty minutes, they created a stronger sense of involvement with their network. “No advertising budget, no renting an expensive director's set, but fun and a great experience. Pure and honest,” according to Loyals .

LinkedIn Live isn’t all that new. It launched last April, but hasn’t seen widespread adoption yet. This broadcasting service country email list is currently in beta and only available to LinkedIn members and LinkedIn Pages who meet specific criteria. LinkedIn prefers established content creators with a significant LinkedIn audience. You can submit a request for LinkedIn Live using this form .

Live content is viewed three times as much as content that is not shared live. Live content is also actively promoted by platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook, which is why it appears higher in the notifications. It should be clear, live content is indispensable in your online strategy!

5. Show your human side in a professional manner with LinkedIn Stories
Stories are an indispensable part of our social media use today. You can easily scroll through them, they are addictive and available on almost every platform. LinkedIn could not stay behind and recently introduced the feature on the medium as well.

On Facebook and Instagram, Stories are mainly used for the B2C market. With LinkedIn Stories, a nice alternative for B2B organizations is now available. With Stories on LinkedIn, you have the opportunity to show your human side in a professional manner. In addition, you can use the feature to share your work in a creative and informal way.

For example, share how you are dealing with the current work-from-home situation. What happens behind the scenes during an event? Toast to a successful end of the week in a fun story. A Friday afternoon drink is not possible in times of corona, but digitally we can still go in all directions...
