On January 1, 2023, the country will witness the inauguration of the president-elect, Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva (PT). However, before the new leader assumes the presidency, there is a period of government transition, a time when all information about the current term is organized and passed on to the next leader.

Following the conclusion of the elections, the new president must appoint a team to carry out the transition process and prepare the new program for the next four years. This transition period begins two business days after the second round and ends ten days after the elected candidate takes office, in accordance with the rules established by Law 10.609/2002.

During this period, 50 special government transition positions are czech republic mobile database created to accommodate those responsible for preparing the new president's next actions. And, even if after the end of this coordination, the appointees are automatically dismissed, it is common for the new ruler to appoint members of the transition cabinet to serve in ministries and other key functions.

This is one of the reasons why the government transition is so important for understanding what the next presidential actions will be like. Based on the appointments, it is possible to get some clues about the agendas that will be prioritized, in addition to observing how economic agents may react to the positioning revealed by the chosen team.

In the 2022 government transition, the entire process is under the command of Vice President-elect Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), coordinator appointed by Lula. By the beginning of December, more than 400 names had already been nominated to join the transition cabinet, however, not all of these members are official, such as the 50 positions created specifically for the task. In other words, most of the team is made up of volunteers.
