Instagram has expanded testing of a new feature that will allow users to contribute to the creation of carousel posts published in the feed. This new feature, which Instagram has been testing internally since August, is now available to the first selected users with the aim of encouraging engagement and interaction within the application. As part of this new feature, users will be able to contribute their own photos and videos to already published carousel posts. This expansion of testing indicates Instagram's efforts to bring new content sharing options and strengthen the community aspect of the platform.

Facebook removes Rooms in groups
Meta announced that it will be removing the ability to create group rooms on Facebook through Rooms in November. The feature, which was first introduced in April 2020, allowed users to create video chats with up to 50 participants. While Rooms became popular during the pandemic, they are no longer seeing the same level of usage. As a result, Meta has decided to remove the functionality from the Facebook platform. This decision follows a similar move when Meta also shut down audio channels, which were launched in 2020, in April of this year.

Meta adds new tools for Reels creators
Meta adds a number of new tools and improvements to help Reels creators gain better insight into their content performance. Meta expands the tools for Reels creators with new capabilities and improvements designed to support better tracking of content performance. One key addition is A/B testing, which will allow creators to create four different versions of each Reel with alternate captions and/or thumbnails. The system will then send each version to a subset of the original audience and determine the winning creative after 30 minutes based on interest. The system will then show this winning variation to other users, allowing creators to optimize their content based on real-world user interest data.
