The second factor that was taken into account was the need to reduce the designers' labor costs. After all, it is known that in any commercial company, time is money.

The last thing that BIM managers did in the context of combining the two approaches was to draw up a clear technical specification based on the designers’ requirements. Among them, the most prominent was the wish to have a “red button” that, by pressing, they could automatically issue documentation that complied with all standards.

For example, a designer can display all types of profiles that phone numbers thailand are in a project with just one click of the mouse.

Plugins that automate the preparation of statements.
The generated statements were dynamic: when elements in the model were changed, the data in the statement changed automatically. The list of such statements included cable logs, specifications, VORs, and a statement of lighting supports.

Ksenia separately noted that automatic generation of statements was implemented thanks to the creation of a common database, not tied to a specific software. Such a database also helps to easily switch to a new software package, because all the information is already stored in one place and is easily integrated into the tool. In addition, the database can be used by users without programming skills.

Automation of calculations.
“After we automated the planned position and statements, we realized that approximately 25% of all project documentation is taken up by calculations,” said Ksenia Gryaznukhina.

Thus, for voltage calculations and illumination calculations, the designers of Samolet use DIALux. Before automation, the entire process took up to 11 hours: first, the designer placed lighting supports in DIALux, performed all calculations, downloaded all the files in DWG format, made a base and manually placed each support in Civil 3D.

After integrating the programs, the designer spends only about 30 minutes on calculations: first, he performs all the necessary actions in DIALux, and then goes to the working drawing in Civil 3D and simply presses the script button. As a result, the supports are placed automatically.

Final words
In conclusion, Ksenia noted that in addition to configuring the integration, the calculations of voltage losses were also automated. Previously, the designer had to enter all the data for each support manually. And with the slightest changes, for example, in the length of the cable or power, redo everything manually. To relieve him of this tedious task, a script was written that allows you to display labels and tabular values for all supports.
