Symphonic (Sym): With your label FLOWKILLAS you have started your own festival. Tell us about the festival and what makes it unique.
Curvelo James (CJ): The Flow Killas Fest is one of the most important projects for our label. It is a very special project because it allows all the people who revolve around our movement to work towards this day where we gather to establish precedents in our city. A bit aligned with our vision of consolidating the industry here. It is also a email marketing oman very special and unique festival because it has sounds that we defend, that we deeply believe can bring new sounds to the global industry. So one day I hope that you can be here, enjoy it up close, and feel the energy and the vibe of what the FlowKillas Fest is.
Sym: Do you have any advice for independent artists who want to start their own label?
CJ: My advice to artists who are just starting out, who want to start creating their own label, is first to get a team of people who share their values, who believe in their vision, who can contribute and add skills to the different fronts that a music label requires. And second, study the industry, find a work methodology that can measure objectives and start working with that. With discipline, with patience, little by little the results will come.
Sym: What was the worst fashion choice you made in high school?
CJ: The worst fashion choice I made in high school was when I straightened my hair. I was very insecure about my hair and I made the decision to straighten it. It was a really fun, really funny time in my life, all my friends made fun of me for a while. But we came out of it okay.
