Lightspeed has partnered with Digital Main Street (DMS), a program created by the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) with support from the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto.

Through ShopHERE powered by Google, one of DMS’s programs, Lightspeed helps connect SMBs to its omnichannel platform and helps provide them with the tools they need to thrive. Lightspeed has also committed to contributing to Digital Main Street’s other programs and support offerings, joining forces with the organization to help grow as many SMBs as possible through the adoption of digital tools and technologies.

“At the heart of every thriving community is a vibrant Main Street. Providing businesses with the right digital tools to adapt and succeed is what Lightspeed does,” said Peter Dougherty, Vice President, Partnerships at Lightspeed. “With DMS, Lightspeed will be better positioned to help SMBs access and benefit from our omnichannel commerce solutions. We’re always focused on driving innovation and providing democratization tools so we can all benefit from a stronger, healthier, and more diverse post-pandemic economy.”

To be eligible for the ShopHERE program, businesses must be germany whatsapp number registered in Ontario and have fewer than 10 full-time employees (or fewer than 25 employees in the case of a café, restaurant or bar). Additionally, businesses must not be part of a chain or franchise.

Omnichannel cloud capability used to be considered a nice-to-have. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s become a must-have. It’s now necessary not just to stay operational, but to capitalize on changing consumer behavior. For 16 years, Lightspeed’s mission has been to future-proof independent businesses by providing them with the best digital platforms and strategies.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lightspeed to our group of partners supporting Digital Main Street,” said John Kiru, Executive Director of the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas and Founder of DMS. “Now more than ever, small business owners across the country must continue to embrace the concept of digital transformation, not only as part of their recovery, but also to thrive in an environment marked by changing consumer behaviour. The addition of Lightspeed, with its focus on omnichannel, will be a welcome and excellent resource for our business community to support.”

Through this partnership, Lightspeed and DMS are helping to ensure that SMBs are resilient and innovation-driven, preparing the economy for the future by driving growth and equipping businesses with the technology needed to meet any challenge.

“As local economies continue to grapple with the impacts of the pandemic, our government is committed to ensuring that our small and medium-sized businesses not only survive, but thrive,” said the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. “We are proud to support the partnership between Digital Main Street and Lightspeed, and look forward to the impact the platform will have on securing the future of small businesses in our communities.”

DMS is proud to be part of the coming recovery and to help resilient merchants continue their initiatives towards success.
