Learn more about the differences and advantages of using mobile and responsive layout to improve user experience.
With the world increasingly using the internet on mobile devices, all websites have had to adapt their layout to fit smaller screens. Especially e-commerce sites.

Purchases made through these devices increase every year and, from 2020 onwards, it has become clear that this is not a passing fad and, with that, the need arose to deliver the best user experience for this audience.

Even with this growth, those who didn’t keep up with user behavior ended up falling behind.

And if you haven't yet updated your website's layout for this new world, we'll show you what you should do now.

What is mobile and responsive layout?
You know when you're lying on the couch, scrolling through line data social media on your phone, and you click to go to a shopping website? The layout of how the website appears to you was designed specifically for your experience using a mobile device.

First, you should know that there are two types of layouts that can adapt to these devices:

Mobile Layout
This type of layout is specifically designed for mobile devices. In other words, it is not an adaptation of the standard website, but rather created from scratch with a focus on the experience that the user will have on a mobile device.

This happens due to the wide variety of screens that allow access to the internet. Therefore, a website is developed with its own code and structure of information, images and menus. This way, when the user accesses the website, it identifies the type of device. If it is a mobile device, it redirects to the subdomain created for the mobile layout.

Responsive layout
This type of layout is designed to automatically adapt to the different types and sizes of screens available. In other words, a website with a responsive layout is able to adapt to any screen if space is limited.

Unlike the mobile layout, which requires a subdomain, in the responsive layout, the same page is adapted to different screen sizes.

Differences between them
Although they look similar, there are some differences between the two layouts that you should pay attention to.

STRATEGY PLANNING: As we said at the beginning, the world is migrating to mobile devices. Therefore, on mobile it is possible to focus more on this audience.

INVESTMENT: Responsive layouts require less investment, since they use the same code as the standard website. Mobile layouts require more investment, since they need to be created from scratch and with a subdomain. In addition, you will need a specialized team to prepare them.
