Some users wonder what the clipboard is and where to look, for example, for copied links to a website on the phone to share them with friends.
temporary storage of links on the phone
The clipboard is a section of the smartphone's RAM space that temporarily stores images, text, and other information that gets there after copying. The storage allows a person not to remember the exact information "from" and "to", accurately sharing it elsewhere.
It is especially useful when there is a need to share a link: remembering website addresses is not the easiest and most pleasant task. Do not forget to paste the copied text into notes or messages, otherwise the information will be deleted from the phone's memory.

Where is the clipboard?
Let's consider the Android operating system. There is no separate folder or other specific place for the clipboard on smartphones. You can open temporary storage in the following way:
- open the application where the text is inserted - messages, notes, browser search
— above the letter layout, find the "sheet of paper" icon - the clipboard, if you are using GBoard/Microsoft SwiftKey keyboards.

GBoard/Microsoft SwiftKey Temporary Storage Features
1. Enabling the "Clipboard" function allows you to save several objects for 1 hour inside the RAM, after which they are automatically cleared
2. When holding an object, you can pin it to avoid automatic deletion after an hour in GBoard, in Microsoft SwiftKey you need to press the "push pin" icon

3. Using the GBoard editing icon ("pencil"), the storage is cleared manually, while Microsoft SwiftKey deletes by swiping on a fragment

How to use the clipboard on your phone
Everyone is used to using the Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V key combination when working with the clipboard on a PC. On smartphones, it works differently. Let's say you want to share a link to a website:
- copy the link to the article from the browser search bar: hold the link, select the entire content (usually this happens automatically)

When you often use the same link, do not forget to pin it to the clipboard to save yourself from the need to constantly search for it. This function is extremely convenient, if you have a multi-link, which is enough to send to share your contacts and basic information about you. You can create a multi-link using the Hypolink constructor service .

Sometimes the "copy" and "paste" buttons may stop appearing. Then it's time to clear the RAM by getting root rights or resetting the system settings to factory settings. Getting root rights is not possible on all smartphone models, and the mechanism for obtaining depends on the gadget itself. You can clear the buffer with administrator rights in the following way:
1. Find "Files" or another similar manager application on your smartphone
2. Go to the folders "Android" → "Data" → "ClipBoard" and delete unnecessary files
3. In Settings, go to "Applications" → "All"
4. select TestService, force stop and clear data
5. Restart your phone
