Christmas Lottery Announcement 2024 – Sharing it is extraordinary

Post by jrine »

As always, the 2024 Christmas Lottery Advertisement, or any other year, is one of the most anticipated spots of the year; and on this occasion it does not disappoint the viewer either.

The 2024 Christmas Lottery advert tells the story of Julián (Amadeo Marín in real life, a man from La Rioja who is not dedicated to acting), a man who goes to an administration to buy a ticket; in the street he is “approached” by a reporter who asks him with whom he would share the ticket, he claims that he has no one to share it with.

This response began to go viral on television and social media, to the point that people started a solidarity campaign to share their ticket with him.

And that's all I can write, the really interesting thing is that you see it and then we talk.

The work makes a nod to the india telegram data phenomenon known as “empty Spain”, those regions, towns, villages that are increasingly losing population… quite the opposite of big cities.
However, the story begins when you see that the neighbour of the last bar in the village has hung up the closing sign, the last fortress that usually remains in the villages, the last bastion that resists this war of depopulation that does so much damage to the small regions and towns, those villages of always, of our grandparents, of our ancestors and where we went on summer holidays, of those summers of which there are no more...

The “ideators” of the campaign are Susana Pérez and David Vigil. The music selected for the advertisement is a version of “Catch a falling star” (Perry Como 1957), performed by an ad hoc amateur choir to give a more Christmas style to the 2024 Christmas Lottery advertisement.
