Fogg Behavior Model for socal media engagement

Post by Bappy11 »

In her search for the ideal combination ( sweet spot ) of influencing techniques, she came across the Fogg Behavior Model by behavioral scientist and Stanford professor BJ Fogg. This model made everything fall into place, also because you can place many other psychological models and theories under it. 'A kind of gesamtkunstwerk emerged , an ideal interplay, which suddenly made everything really sing. Everything the Van Gogh Museum does in the field of social media strategy is now tested against this behavioral model.'

Fogg's behavioral model
According to Fogg's behavioral model, no behavior can occur without the right balance between motivation ,buy phone number list ability , and triggers . In other words, someone must want it, be able to do it, and have a reason to do it now. Are you missing one of these 3 factors, or is the balance disturbed? Then it's over.

Put hot triggers in the path of motivated people! – BJ Fogg

Think about the popular cat videos online. It takes little time and effort to watch them (capacity) and they have a high fun factor (motivation = fun). A video often starts playing the moment you scroll over it on your timeline. That is a good incentive (trigger) to watch (further). It goes without saying that watching a minute-long video about a social issue requires a different (greater) motivation, capacity and trigger.
