I am often told in the Zoom live calls I have with members of the Académie Français Authentique, they will tell me: "Johan, I don't have time to learn French. How can I do it?" or they will sometimes tell me: "I don't know how you manage to read so much."
And in fact, once again, Don't you think... Here, it's really a question that I'm asking you who are listening to me... Don't you think that it's hypocritical to watch series and social networks for hours every day and then say "I don't have time to read or I don't have time to practice French". And in saying that, I'm not being negative towards anyone and I'm not criticizing anyone. You heard it 2 minutes ago, I told you that I myself fell into this trap of WhatsApp and Telegram groups for example or WhatsApp and Telegram communication. So that's something that no one is really safe from.
But hiding behind the lack of time to say "I can't listen to French, I can't practice French or I can't read" is, in my opinion, hypocrisy because it's all about choices. And if I could have decided that spending time reading the news or... well spending time, spending an hour a day reading the news and checking WhatsApp and Telegram was OK malaysia whatsapp number data for me, if that had been the case, it was good because it was a conscious decision. But what I recommend doing is to simply avoid these default decisions.
So in my opinion, it's all about choices, you have to choose, it's all about priorities. And I advise you to keep a simple life despite everything with few priorities. We'll talk about it again next week. Simplicity remains a big topic for me, at the moment. We've talked about it a lot and we'll talk about it again in next week's episode. Keep a simple life with few priorities, make really strong choices. Telling yourself "I'm going to cut myself off from the news", it's a strong choice, but I know why I'm doing it. And by really giving time to things that deserve it, we are simply more efficient and happier.
So whatever your interests are, it could be reading, it could be learning French, it could be chess, it could be playing guitar, it could be playing football, it could be knitting, it could be having activities related to religion, charity etc. it doesn't really matter, the idea is really to choose few things and give them all your attention, as much attention as possible, and to protect these activities so that side activities that are much less useful don't pollute these priorities, quite simply.
I invite you to listen or re-listen to the episode " We always have time ", which I recorded a few months ago, on time management. So all you have to do is go to the Français Authentique blog , type "we always have time" and you can get other advice on this subject.
I hope you enjoyed it, that it will inspire you. I will keep you informed, I will also regularly inform the members of the Académie Français Authentique of my developments on the subject of reading. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening to me.
