Coca-cola
In January 2010, The Coca-Cola Company created the “Happiness Machine” video with the help of interactive marketing agency.
The video showed a Coca-Cola vending machine that dispensed much more than just a cold drink.
The video was filmed at St. John's University in Queens, New York, using five strategically placed hidden cameras. The students' reactions were completely unscripted.
The video went viral and now has over 4.5 million views on YouTube.
In May 2010, it received the prestigious CLIO Gold Interactive Award.
The audiovisual material had excellent penetration in Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Russia.
After seeing the incredible ROI of this video, Coca-Cola decided to continue with the “Happiness” theme by launching several videos using the same concept, some of which you will surely remember.
Frontline
If you look closely at this photo, it is not a real dog swatting away mosquitoes, it is a giant photo of a dog inside a shopping mall and the mosquitoes are not mosquitoes, they are actually people visiting the mall.
Frontline, the makers of flea and tick prevention products for dogs, were able to fill the entire floor of this large public space with this image.
The brand knew that many people walk through that space every day, and that a good number of people also see it from the upper levels of the building, creating the illusion of dogs and mosquitoes.
Again, this campaign is different from traditional marketing, because it's not just placing a single message somewhere that's likely to be ignored. It creates a form of accidental human interaction that reminds the viewer of what the product does.
Impressive, isn't it?
Red Bull
In October 2012, Red Bull and Austrian athlete Felix Baumgartner set a world record for the highest skydiving jump.
